One of my favorite hotels in the Philippines is the Dusit Thani Manila hotel, located in Makati. It just recently has been renovated and it has the feeling of 5 stars. Once you walk in the lobby the Gold Tahi themed lobby is first class. A live instrumentalist and female host to escort you to the elevators it gives you a sense of comfort. The front desk and bellman greet me with a welcoming smile and easy check with a upgrade to a brand new room with a view. The hotel is 30% done with its room renovations but the lobby and new restaurant is amazing.
I always thought they had one of the best hotel restaurants in Makati but they just moved up another level with there new buffet. Looks like a lot of fresh farm to table products and local ingredients. When you stay there make sure you include the breakfast package cause the layout is pretty awesome. Another thing the Dust Thani did well with is there Thai restaurant. I eat there overtime I stay there and this trip was no different. There curry is a hit, the and the spring rolls are like being in Thailand.
I love the new rooms and the color they chose. It gives you a sense of comfort and being at home. Everyone loves the smell of new carpet of course and maybe even fresh paint like me. The Dust Thani has there own lemon grass scent that is refreshing while walking in the halls. The new showers are sexy if you want them to be by being open with large glass ceiling to floor. You do have the option of closing the blinds or showing the world your goods if you leave the bedroom curtains open.
I give the Dusit Thani Manila 5 stars. It provides a 5 star experience at a 4 star price. If this hotel was in America you would easily pay $350-400 night. I have stayed in many hotels and this is one of my favorites.
